Description:

This is a freshwater fly fishing trip to the Gunnison River in the wilderness section of the famous Black Canyon solely dedicated to trout fishing for rainbows and browns during the epicenter of the fishery's main salmon fly hatch.  Our lodge's accommodations on the front and back end of trip are top-notch and the food is excellent.  Two of the nights are spent camping in the gorge of the Black Canyon and the food there is just as good.  Our outfitters and guides are the best on this section of river and offer guests excellent dry fly fishing to large, "slabby" trout eating flies drifted along rock walls.  6 weight 9 foot rods are reccommended.  Anglers will fish from the boats and also by wading.  The experienced guide staff traverse the rapids with fine boatmanship.  Browns are most prevalent and the average landed fish is 18".
